It always seems to take a few days to get back into a routine after being on vacation – a small price to pay for a wonderful time visiting friends and family!

This week has been a bit more chaotic than most, but last night’s assemble-your-own Caprese Crostini was a perfect dinner choice. Fresh basil from the garden (a special thank you to those who watered the garden in my absence), tomatoes from Barham Farms, and mozzarrella from the Hillsborough Cheese Co. topped Crostini from the Stick Boy Bread Company. A little olive oil and mmm! in less than 5 minutes.

Caprese Salad has been on my mind since our visit to Chris and Daisy’s – Daisy served a beautiful and delicious variation as an appetizer – the yellow tomatoes were gorgeous!
